Baazi arrives as a familiar vigilante drama wrapped in the clothes of small-town revenge, and while it doesn't break new ground, it executes its premise with enough conviction to merit attention. The film's central conceit—a disgraced cop finding unlikely common cause with a criminal's henchman—has merit, and there are stretches where the narrative's momentum carries you through. The performances strike a reasonable balance; the lead manages to convey both the weariness of a man stripped of authority and the fire of a man seeking justice, while his counterpart brings a certain physicality to what could have been a one-dimensional muscle role. What works best is the film's willingness to complicate its hero's return to his hometown—the contrast between enforced peace and violent upheaval creates genuine tension in the opening act.

Storyline

Ajay's this hotshot cop who can't help himself—he keeps chasing criminals outside his jurisdiction and getting slapped with warnings! Finally, he gets the boot from the force and heads back to his sleepy hometown to work with his dad, living this perfect, peaceful life with his wife Asha and their kids. But then Rocky, this absolute scumbag criminal, rolls into town and opens a glitzy casino, and suddenly Ajay's quiet world is about to explode.

Things go sideways fast when Ajay and his buddy Albert get cheated at the casino and a massive brawl breaks out—Albert gets murdered and Ajay's left bleeding! Meanwhile, Rocky's hired this strong young guy named Salim as muscle, but here's where it gets brilliant: Rocky injures Salim himself and pins it on Ajay, which makes Salim realize they're both being played by the same snake. When Ajay shows up hunting revenge for Albert, instead of fighting, these two clue in that they're actually on the same side against this casino mafia operation!

Ajay and Salim team up and take the fight to Rocky's goons with incredible intensity, but tragedy strikes when stray bullets meant for Ajay hit his beloved Asha instead—absolutely devastating! But this loss fuels their fire as they go full vengeance mode, taking down Rocky and his entire operation in this explosive, satisfying final reckoning that's both heartbreaking and cathartic!
