"Aur Pappu Paas Ho Gaya" attempts a familiar Bollywood formula—the underdog pretending to be someone he's not to win love and acceptance—but struggles to inject genuine charm or novelty into its well-trodden premise. The film hinges on a flimsy con that strains credibility from the opening act, and while the earnest sincerity of a small-town mechanic chasing an impossible dream has sentimental appeal, the screenplay fails to build tension or meaningful character arcs around this central deception. The performances, though occasionally spirited, never quite transcend the limitations of the material; the lead lacks the charisma to make Pappu's audacity endearing rather than merely foolish, and the supporting cast—particularly those playing the antagonists—feel underutilized. Director's handling of the comedy is pedestrian, relying on slapstick and convenient plot twists rather than wit, and the inevitable unraveling of Pappu's lie feels predictable rather than cathartic.

Where the film does deserve mild credit is in its willingness to explore the vulnerability of ambition without entirely mocking its protagonist for his desperation. There are glimpses of heart in scenes between Pappu and Tara Singh, and the eventual convergence of real parents with false royalty had the potential for genuine emotion if handled with more finesse. However, these moments are overshadowed by clumsy execution, tonal inconsistencies, and a narrative that meanders without purpose. The film settles in

Storyline

So there's this guy named Pappu who's basically a dreamer stuck in a small village with his parents, living hand to mouth. He decides to chase his luck in Mumbai and lands a job as a mechanic at a garage owned by this guy Tara Singh. That's where his life takes a wild turn – he spots this super rich and glamorous girl named Kiran and falls hard for her.

Here's the twist though – Kiran happens to be the sister of a seriously dangerous gangster, so Pappu can't just walk up to her as a mechanic. Instead, he pulls off this crazy con where he pretends to be a runaway prince from some royal kingdom called Trikamgarh. And it totally works! He not only wins Kiran's heart but also manages to charm her scary gangster brother Sudhakar and their grandmother. Everyone's eating out of his hand, believing he's actual royalty.

Things get messier when Sudhakar wants to meet Pappu's "father" to arrange the wedding, so Pappu convinces Tara Singh to play along as his dad. To keep up the fancy prince act, Tara even borrows money from a local moneylender named Pathan. But then everything starts going sideways when suddenly the real prince from Trikamgarh shows up in Mumbai, and worst of all, Pappu's actual parents decide to visit their son at the same time!
