Anita attempts to weave a romantic drama with thriller elements, and while the film's ambition deserves acknowledgment, the execution falters considerably. The central premise—a class-divided romance interrupted by mysterious reappearances and murder conspiracies—had genuine potential for emotional depth and intrigue. However, the narrative becomes increasingly convoluted, particularly in its second half, where the revelation about Anil Sharma's crimes feels hastily assembled rather than organically developed. The director struggles to maintain tonal balance, lurching between romantic melodrama and crime thriller without giving either sufficient breathing room. That said, there are moments where the earnestness of the leads shines through, and the courtroom abandonment scene does land with some impact, capturing the visceral cruelty of class prejudice.

The performances are earnest if uneven. Anita's dual existence as both a grieving woman and a mysterious sadhvi required nuance that occasionally gets lost in the film's overwrought sentiment. Neeraj's journey from heartbroken lover to amateur detective is serviceable, though the script doesn't always serve him with believable motivations for his increasingly dangerous pursuit. The supporting cast, particularly in the Anil Sharma subplot, feels underutilized, with the antagonist never quite becoming threatening enough to justify the elaborate mystery built around him. What works is the film's fundamental belief in its lovers—t

Next thing, Neeraj gets word that Anita's supposedly killed herself, and he's left shattered, convinced something darker's going on.

But plot twist—Neeraj keeps spotting Anita around town, which makes zero sense since she's supposed to be dead! Then during a vacation he sees her dressed as a holy woman, a sadhvi named Maya, and learns she died twenty years ago—what is happening?! The mystery deepens when Anita finally reaches out asking to meet, and everything unravels: Anil Sharma, the rich guy her dad wanted her to marry, is actually a murderer who killed his pregnant lover and framed Anita for it to cover his tracks!

Neeraj gets the full story from Anita and they race to expose Anil before the cops do! In a wild encounter scene, Anil gets taken down and Neeraj and Anita finally, finally get their moment—reunited and utterly relieved! Love triumphs, the villain's done for, and these two can finally be together without anyone trying to ruin their lives!
