4/10Critic Score

Sidharth Malhotra and Ajay Devgn are wasted on material that can't decide whether it wants to be a spy thriller or a romantic comedy, and the result is a muddled mess that satisfies neither appetite. Director Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. seem more interested in cramming in action set pieces and half-baked romance than actually developing a coherent narrative. The premise of two former colleagues with a shadowy past colliding in Mumbai had potential, but the execution is lazy—the chemistry between Malhotra and Devgn feels forced, the dialogue is cringe-worthy in places, and the film treats its audience like they won't notice the gaping plot holes. Malhotra tries hard to carry the film with charm, but even his efforts can't resurrect a script this fundamentally broken.

What's frustrating is that there are fleeting moments where something interesting almost emerges—a slick action sequence here, a comedic beat there—but they're buried under bloated runtime and a story that meanders without purpose. The dual timeline structure needed clarity and purpose; instead, it just feels like unnecessary padding. Devgn's presence demands better material, and frankly, so does the audience. This is the kind of film that mistakes style for substance, assuming flashy editing and foreign locations can mask the absence of a compelling story. It can't.

Storyline

So basically, there's this software engineer guy named Gaurav who's living in Miami and wants to propose to his crush Kavya. She's into adventurous types though, so he's trying to prove he's more exciting than he actually is. Then his boss forces him to go to Mumbai for work, but there's clearly some sketchy history there that makes him really uncomfortable about going back.

The story jumps back to 2012, where we meet Rishi, who's basically a secret agent working for this spy organization run by a tough military guy. Rishi's getting tired of the whole spy business and wants out, but his boss keeps pushing him to take on one more dangerous mission involving India's Defense Secretary and some classified information.

Here's where it gets interesting—Rishi actually knows Gaurav from when they were working together in Miami at some weapons company, and they were involved in pulling off some risky intelligence operation together. Without giving away what happens, let's just say their pasts are pretty intertwined, and when Gaurav gets called back to Mumbai, it's clear these two lives are about to collide in a major way.
