Storyline
I just watched this incredible story about a woman who gets voted in as the village leader, and honestly, it's so relevant. Parvati is this determined character who suddenly finds herself in a position of real power, but the whole village basically loses its mind because she's a woman. Seema Biswas absolutely nails the role – you can feel her character's frustration and strength in every scene.
The thing that got me the most was how the film doesn't shy away from showing just how hostile everyone is toward her. It's not some sanitized version of sexism – men in the village actively work against her, question her abilities, and try to undermine her at every turn. But watching her navigate through all that resistance, refusing to back down even when things get really uncomfortable, that's where the film finds its heart.
What makes it work is that it's not just about her personal struggle. The film is genuinely interested in what she's trying to accomplish for the village itself – the real issues she wants to tackle and the actual impact she's trying to make. It's a powerful reminder of how much courage it takes for women to claim spaces that were never meant for them, and how much they can achieve when they actually do.
