Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's chemistry is undeniably the heart of this gloriously unhinged ride. What could have been a tired kidnapping-for-marriage story transforms into something genuinely inventive—a demon-possessed bride, two small-time criminals fumbling their way into emotional investment, and a premise so audacious it shouldn't work but somehow does. The film commits fully to its weirdness, refusing the safety of conventional storytelling, and that audacity pays dividends. Watching these bumbling goons develop conflicting obsessions—one enamored with the girl, the other fascinated by the demonic entity within her—creates comedy that actually lands while generating unexpected emotional resonance.

Where the film truly shines is in its refusal to be a disposable gimmick machine. Instead of leaning entirely on shock value, it builds genuine stakes and character arcs that feel earned rather than forced. The supernatural mythology wrapping around these criminal mishaps gives the narrative momentum, and the ensemble manages to ground the absurdity with moments of real humanity. Kapoor and Rao elevate material that could collapse under its own strangeness, their performances threading the needle between comedy and sincerity with admirable skill.

Storyline

This audacious film turns the kidnapping-for-marriage trope completely on its head, delivering something wonderfully weird and utterly charming! Two small-time goons tasked with abducting a bride for their boss discover she's possessed by a powerful demon—and suddenly their criminal errand spirals into something far more bizarre and unexpectedly touching. The premise alone is gloriously absurd, but the film mines genuine humor and heart from every twisted turn.

What makes this such a delight is watching these two bumbling criminals become emotionally invested in Roohi's fate for entirely different reasons! One falls head over heels for the girl herself while the other becomes fascinated with the demonic spirit inhabiting her body, creating hilarious tension and unexpected emotional depth. The chemistry between the leads absolutely crackles as they navigate this impossible situation with equal parts comedy and sincerity.

The film's greatest strength lies in how it refuses to play it safe, embracing the supernatural chaos while keeping its characters endearingly human throughout! With a mythological twist involving a formidable witch and increasingly frantic stakes, the narrative builds momentum beautifully. What could've been a one-note gimmick becomes a surprisingly engaging story about connection, redemption, and finding humanity in the strangest circumstances imaginable.
