Storyline
At the heart of this drama lies Puru, a humble college worker in Mathura whose true passion exists offstage—in the annual Ramleela performances where he embodies Lord Laxman. His uncle Ramsevak has stewarded the troupe for years as a labor of love, preserving a cherished local tradition with care and reverence.
The delicate world of sacred theater shatters when Sitaram, Puru's cousin and the lead actor playing Rama, allows substance abuse to derail a crucial performance. The public spectacle of failure forces Ramsevak to walk away from the art form entirely, convinced that the heart has been ripped from what once felt holy.
Puru now faces a personal reckoning: whether he can resurrect both his family's reputation and the cultural legacy they once stewarded so faithfully. The film probes how tradition becomes vulnerable to corruption and what it costs when sacred art loses its sanctity in pursuit of profit.
