4.8/10Critic Score

"Kudiyon Ka Hai Zamana" arrives as a film caught between two incompatible ideas—a frothy, friendship-centred comedy about female agency and a contrived matchmaking scheme that undermines everything it pretends to celebrate. Director's execution falters precisely where the premise needed the most finesse: the central bet feels less like organic character motivation and more like a mechanical plot device salvaged from 90s romantic comedies. The performances, particularly the chemistry between the four leads, carry occasional moments of genuine warmth, but they're constantly strangled by a screenplay that mistakes loud scheming for wit. What could have been a sharp commentary on matrimonial pressure instead becomes a muddled mess that doesn't trust its own subtext, ultimately reducing Anjali's journey from self-discovery to a series of predictable beats punctuated by forced romantic montages.

The film's fatal flaw lies in its tonal confusion—it wants to be both a biting satire of marriage culture and a conventional romantic drama, succeeding at neither. The four male leads exist less as characters and more as interchangeable obstacles, their individual arcs so undercooked that Anjali's eventual rejection of them feels less like feminist triumph and more like narrative obligation. By comparison, films like "Veere Di Wedding" managed similar territory with sharper writing and genuine stakes; here, even the climactic revelation lacks impact because we've already sensed the friends

Storyline

So basically, there are these four super rich best friends—Mayuri, Kanika, Natasha, and Anjali—who've known each other forever. They're all at different points in their lives: Mayuri's been married multiple times and is kind of hung up on her first husband, Natasha's pregnant and married, Kanika's about to walk down the aisle, and Anjali's the only single one at 24 years old. These girls are constantly making crazy bets about random stuff, especially when it comes to guys, and somehow Anjali always seems to win!

Right before Kanika's wedding, the three married friends come up with this hilarious idea where they basically trick Anjali into signing something saying she won't get married until after she turns 25. Once she agrees to it, the three of them decide they're going to find some guys to try and actually get Anjali to say yes before that birthday hits. So they set up this whole scheme with four different men who start trying to win her over and get her to fall for them.

Here's where it gets interesting—Anjali starts catching genuine feelings for these guys and actually considers saying yes to one of them. But then, plot twist, she figures out what her friends have been up to all along. Once she realizes it's all just some elaborate bet, she basically tells all the guys to take a hike and refuses to marry any of them.
