4/10Critic Score

This romantic comedy stumbles under the weight of its own convoluted premise, trading the charm of simpler arranged-marriage narratives for a morally murky scheme that never quite justifies itself. The central conceit—two lovestruck individuals conspiring to sabotage another couple's relationship—feels uncomfortably manipulative, and the film struggles to make us root for protagonists who are essentially engineering emotional destruction for personal gain. Compared to the elegance of films like *Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na*, which navigate love triangles with wit and genuine heart, *Koi Mere Dil Mein Hai* opts for contrivance over character development. The performances are serviceable but lack the spark needed to sell such ethically questionable behavior; neither the lead actors nor the supporting cast manages to inject sufficient charisma or vulnerability to make us overlook the script's fundamental problems.

What could have been a commentary on the collision between desire and duty instead becomes a mechanical exercise in plot twists and manufactured complications. The revelation that Sameer is already engaged to Asha—the very obstacle our protagonists scheme to overcome—should function as dramatic irony, but instead it highlights how little the narrative cares about internal consistency or character motivation. Director Arjun Sablok's handling of the material feels perfunctory; there's no visual flair, no rhythmic comedy, and no emotional texture to elevate the melodrama. Ev

Storyline

So basically, this rich guy named Raj from the Malhotra family is supposed to marry Simran, this girl from America whose dad is friends with Raj's parents. But here's the thing — Raj isn't interested in the arranged match because he's already fallen for Asha, who tutors his sister. She's from a modest background and keeps rejecting his attention, but he's pretty determined about it. Meanwhile, Simran also doesn't want to marry Raj because she's actually in love with a guy named Sameer who's trying to make it as a singer.

When Simran gets brought to India to meet Raj, instead of fighting about the wedding, they team up as partners in crime. They both want to escape this arranged marriage so they can be with the people they actually love. But then they discover something pretty messy — it turns out that Sameer is already engaged to Asha! So now Raj and Simran have to work together to break up Asha and Sameer so that Raj can be with Asha and Simran can be with Sameer. They manage to pull off their scheme and get Raj and Asha's wedding arranged.

The night before the wedding, Raj feels terrible about what they've done and confesses everything to Sameer, who surprisingly forgives him and tells him to go ahead with marrying Asha. Simran's also dealing with her own guilt, and things get pretty complicated when feelings start shifting in unexpected ways. Everything comes to a head at the wedding ceremony itself, and let's just say there's a pretty wild twist that nobody sees coming!
