Review
Rohit Dhawan's "Karzzzz" attempts to resurrect the reincarnation thriller with contemporary trappings, trading the period melodrama of its 1980 namesake for globe-trotting glamour and rock-star mythology. The premise itself—a wronged man returning across lifetimes to seek justice—has genuine dramatic potential, and the film does occasionally find moments of genuine intrigue when it leans into the supernatural mystery rather than veering into unnecessary subplot tangles. Himesh Reshammiya, cast as both Ravi and Monty, carries the dual burden with reasonable conviction, even if his rock-star persona feels grafted on from another film entirely. The supporting cast, particularly in the Kenyan sequences, struggles to elevate material that oscillates between soap-opera earnestness and action-film posturing.
Where "Karzzzz" falters is in its fundamental storytelling discipline. The film spends its first half building atmospheric tension around Monty's mysterious visions, only to rush through the actual reincarnation revelation and subsequent revenge arc with surprising haste. Director Dhawan shows competence in handling large international sets and the technical requirements of a multi-geography shoot, but loses the plot's emotional thread in the process—we never quite feel the weight of either Ravi's original tragedy or Monty's psychological unraveling. The film also missteps with its villain, allowing Kamini to remain more sketch than character, which undermines the personal stak
Storyline
So basically, there's this guy named Ravi who wins a huge court battle and gets tons of vineyard land in Kenya. He's super happy and decides to marry this woman Kamini, but plot twist—she's actually working with the gangster he just beat in court! She manages to sabotage their plane and he ends up dying, while she walks away with all his money and property. His poor mom and sister are left with nothing.
Cut to twenty-five years later, and we meet Monty, this successful rock star living it up in South Africa as the adopted son of a wealthy businessman. He's got fame and fortune, but something feels off inside him. He hangs out with his girlfriend Tina and his best friend Dr. Dayal, but then he starts having these weird flashbacks of someone else's life. Curious about what's going on, he decides to travel to Kenya to figure out the mystery.
Once he gets there, things get really interesting because Monty starts putting all the pieces together and realizes he's actually the reincarnation of Ravi! He remembers everything about his past life and decides he needs to find his mother and sister from back then. Along the way, he crosses paths with Princess Kamini again—the same woman who betrayed him all those years ago—and she's still living a luxurious life as a powerful woman connected to all sorts of powerful people.
