4/10Critic Score

This film is a textbook case of ambition without execution—a melodramatic mess that mistakes intensity for storytelling. The premise of a journalist-criminal romance had potential, but director squanders it by drowning the narrative in predictable twists and overwrought emotional beats. The first half limps along with zero chemistry between the leads, their romance feeling more like contractual obligation than genuine connection. When the murder happens, instead of genuine shock, you get the sense the film is checking boxes off a list: betrayal? Check. Prison break? Check. Revenge arc? Check. The performances are serviceable at best—nobody here elevates the material, and frankly, they seem as confused as the audience about what tone this film is actually aiming for.

The second half devolves into a revenge thriller that's been recycled so many times it feels like watching a photocopy of a photocopy. Plot revelations that should land with impact instead feel contrived; the "shocking" culprit reveal is telegraphed from a mile away, and the climactic confrontation is just loud gunfire and shouting masquerading as drama. For a film about powerful enemies and dangerous secrets, there's precious little tension or genuine stakes. The supporting cast—Bismillah, Lt. Colonel Amit—are cardboard cutouts with motivations that shift whenever the script needs them to.

What's genuinely frustrating is that with better writing and a director who understood restraint, this could've been someth

Storyline

So there's this bold journalist named Payal who gets sent out to interview this super dangerous international crime boss called Devraj, along with her cameraman buddy Focus. What starts as just a work assignment turns into something way more complicated when they actually fall for each other, which obviously ticks off everyone around them—his guardian Bismillah and military guy Lt. Colonel Amit, plus her own brother Ravi are all dead set against it.

Things take a dark turn when Payal's brother Ravi ends up murdered, and Devraj gets framed for the whole thing. It's absolutely heartbreaking because Payal actually testifies against him in court, leading to him getting sentenced to death. But then Devraj finds out some shocking truths while he's locked up, and he manages to break free, now determined to figure out who really killed his loved ones and bring them to justice.

As Devraj digs deeper into what really happened, he uncovers some wild betrayals and discovers the actual culprit behind multiple deaths. The whole situation spirals into this intense showdown where loyalties get tested and secrets come tumbling out. There's this crazy confrontation that forces Devraj to face off against some seriously powerful enemies, and ultimately he gets a chance to settle the score and find his way back to the person he loves.
