5.8/10Critic Score

There's something oddly endearing about a film that swings for the fences with such an ambitious premise, even when the execution stumbles. *Hello Brother* takes a supernatural fantasy concept—a man returning as a ghost inhabiting another's body—that could have been genuinely moving, but instead treats it as scaffolding for jealousy, slapstick, and revenge. Arjun Sarja brings earnest charm to the courier protagonist, and there are moments where you feel the ache of unrequited love and the desperation of being invisible to the world. However, the film dilutes its emotional core by becoming a comedy-thriller hybrid that never quite commits to either register. The heart transplant premise (literally and figuratively) deserved deeper exploration—what does it mean to lose your body, your identity, your chance with the woman you love? Instead, we get petty ghost sabotage and predictable buddy-cop beats.

The direction feels scattered, as if the filmmaker couldn't decide whether to make us laugh or cry, so attempted both without mastering either. Sarja's co-star carries their scenes well, and there's chemistry between characters, but the narrative arc—especially the jealousy subplot—feels regressive and unearned. By the time we reach the climactic rescue sequence, the film has abandoned any pretense of exploring what made its premise special in the first place. It's competent masala cinema with occasional sparks of something better, but those sparks fizzle before they can ignite any

Storyline

So basically, there's this cheerful courier guy who works for a company owner, and he's got this massive crush on his coworker Rani, except she just sees him as a friend. Meanwhile, a cop named Vishal transfers to Mumbai and starts investigating the company owner because he suspects him of running drugs. Things get pretty intense when our hero tries to defend his boss and everything goes sideways in a dramatic confrontation.

Here's where it gets wild – both guys end up badly hurt, and the police make this crazy decision to transplant our hero's heart into Vishal's body to save his life. Now our hero becomes a ghost that only Vishal can see, and he's determined to get revenge on the company owner. The problem is, Vishal and Rani start developing feelings for each other, which makes our ghostly hero super jealous and he tries to sabotage their relationship.

But eventually, the two guys work through their issues and become actual friends as they team up against the bad guy. Things come to a head when the company owner tries to escape the country but kidnaps Rani first. Vishal and our ghost hero rush to the rescue in an epic showdown where they have to fight off a bunch of thugs to save her.
