Review
When you walk into a film like this, you're not expecting Shakespearean tragedy or profound social commentary—you're expecting laughs, a bit of mischief, and perhaps some reflection on why we chase what we've lost. What *Grand Masti* delivers, unfortunately, is a tired celebration of infidelity dressed up as male fantasy. The film wastes a genuinely relatable premise—three married men feeling disconnected from their partners—by never actually engaging with it. Instead of exploring the real emotional distance that drives these men, director Indra Kumar opts for predictable leering and juvenile humor that confuses sleaze with comedy. Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdaswamy, and Manjari Fadnnis do their best with material that offers them little substance, but even their charm can't salvage a narrative that asks us to root for characters who are fundamentally unsympathetic. The "complications" with the principal's daughters feel like an afterthought rather than genuine conflict.
What bothers me most is the wasted opportunity. Here's a film that could have been a sharp comedy about marriage, desire, and the choices we make—instead, it's content to be a boys' fantasy that mistakes objectification for humor. The college setting becomes a playground for the male gaze rather than a space for actual character development or meaningful comedy. There are moments—brief flickers—where you sense what could have been: a real examination of why these men feel so lost, why their marriages have crumb
Storyline
So basically, these three married guys are all pretty miserable in their relationships and feeling neglected by their wives. One's convinced his wife is cheating, another thinks his wife ignores him, and the third feels like his wife only cares about their kid. When they get invited back to their college reunion without their wives tagging along, they see it as the perfect opportunity to let loose and have some fun away from their marriage drama.
They head back to campus expecting to party it up, but things are way more uptight than they remember. The principal is basically a tyrant who runs the place like a prison, and everyone's too scared to break a single rule. Despite all this, the guys spot some seriously attractive women around campus and start getting ideas about pursuing them, thinking this could be their chance for some excitement.
Here's where things get complicated though – as they start getting closer to these women and trying to make their moves, they realize there's a pretty major problem with their plans. Each of the women they've got their eyes on has a direct connection to the principal that's going to make things way more difficult than they bargained for.
