Review
The premise of "Good Luck!" is charming enough—a masked encounter, transferred fortune, and the gradual realization that two people are cosmically entwined. On paper, it's the kind of whimsical setup that could work in the right hands. Unfortunately, this film proves those hands were nowhere to be found. The narrative, while conceptually light and breezy, lacks any real bite or intelligence in its execution. The luck-swapping mechanics feel arbitrary rather than earned, and the film treats this central conceit as mere decoration for a standard romantic storyline instead of exploring its thematic potential. What could have been a clever meditation on destiny versus effort instead settles for convenient plot devices and contrived coincidences.
The performances are serviceable but uninspired. Neither lead manages to inject genuine chemistry or personality into their roles—they're going through the motions of a love story we've seen a hundred times before. The direction is painfully pedestrian, with no visual flair or comedic timing to elevate the material. The "hilarious situations" promised by the synopsis are rarely funny, landing with the grace of a lead balloon. Even the potentially touching subplot about Vicky's cousin feels like an afterthought, a desperate grab for emotional weight in a film that hasn't earned the right to it. The film mistakes sentimentality for substance at every turn.
What makes "Good Luck!" particularly frustrating is how squandered it all is. A sto
Storyline
So basically, there's this performer named Vicky who's been struggling like crazy—nothing ever works out for him despite being super talented back in school and college. Then he meets this girl Saba at a party where everyone's wearing masks, and they share this magical kiss that somehow flips their fortunes around. Suddenly Vicky's life becomes amazing, but poor Saba gets hit with all his bad luck instead!
Here's where it gets funny—Saba has no idea what Vicky actually looks like since he was masked when they kissed, but she decides to track him down anyway to fix things. She finally finds him and they keep swapping their luck back and forth through kisses, which leads to some pretty hilarious situations. Just when things seem to be working out for Vicky, he decides to give his luck to his little cousin who's dealing with some serious health issues instead of keeping it for himself.
By the time all this luck-swapping chaos settles down, Vicky and Saba realize they're genuinely meant for each other. They end up together and everything just clicks into place for both of them—their lives seriously level up once they stop fighting the cosmic connection between them.
