Madhur Bhandarkar's "Fashion" is a visceral punch to the gut that captures something deeply true about ambition's intoxicating allure and its devastating cost. Priyanka Chopra delivers a performance of remarkable vulnerability wrapped in steely determination—you see Meghna transform from a wide-eyed dreamer into someone who gradually loses herself in the pursuit of validation, and it's uncomfortable to watch because it feels achingly real. The direction smartly doesn't judge her choices so much as document them, allowing the audience to experience the seductive pull of the modeling world alongside her descent. The film understands that this isn't a simple morality tale; it's about how systems exploit our desires and reshape our values until we barely recognize ourselves.

What makes this film genuinely powerful is its unflinching portrayal of the fashion industry's ugliness—the casual exploitation, the transactional nature of relationships, the way success becomes hollow when built on compromises. Storyline

So this girl Meghna totally goes against her parents' wishes to chase her modeling dreams in Mumbai instead of becoming an accountant like they wanted. When she gets there, it's super rough at first—she keeps getting rejected at auditions and struggling to make it. She eventually connects with this other aspiring model named Manav, and they become close friends while both trying to break into the industry.

Things start picking up when Meghna does this lingerie photoshoot to pay for professional portfolio pictures, and suddenly her photos end up on a magazine cover. Her family's not thrilled about it though, so she ends up moving in with Manav. That's when a big modeling agency called Panache notices her potential, and the people running it think she's got serious talent and determination.

Before you know it, Meghna's career takes off and she becomes this huge overnight success as the agency's top model. Of course, with all that fame and success comes some drama in her personal life—her relationship with Manav changes, and things get complicated when she gets involved with someone from the agency who helped boost her career.
