Rishab Seth's "Farrey" attempts to explore the morally grey space between desperation and ambition, a thematic territory that Bollywood has mined before with considerably more finesse. The film's central premise—underprivileged students monetizing academic expertise by enabling wealthy peers to cheat—carries genuine potential, and Ishita Chauhan brings an earnest quality to Niyati that occasionally grounds the narrative's ethical quandaries. However, the execution falters significantly. The direction lacks the sharp social commentary that elevated films like "Cheat India" or even the darker cynicism of "3 Idiots," instead oscillating between melodrama and crime-thriller conventions without committing fully to either.
