Review
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif bring infectious energy to *De Dana Dan*, a film that thrives on the chaos of mistaken identities and overlapping schemes rather than any cohesive narrative spine. What works beautifully here is the film's commitment to pure, unapologetic fun—the performances are spirited, the comedic timing sharp, and there's a genuine warmth between the leads that makes you root for their happiness despite the absurdity surrounding them. Priyadarshan's direction keeps the madness moving at breakneck speed, and for stretches, you find yourself swept up in the mayhem, laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. The supporting cast—particularly the ensemble caught in the web of dowries, mob hitmen, and secret marriages—adds layers of comic chaos that, when executed well, genuinely land.
Yet beneath all that frenetic energy lies a film struggling to justify its own existence. The plot is essentially a Frankensteinian stitching together of multiple, disconnected storylines that never quite merge into something meaningful; instead, they just create noise. The romance between Nitin and Anjali, which should be the emotional core, gets lost in the shuffle of schemes and schemes-within-schemes. What saves *De Dana Dan* from being entirely hollow is its self-aware humor and the sheer commitment everyone brings to the bit—but you can't help wishing the screenplay had done more than just pile on complications. Storyline
So basically, there's this guy Nitin who works as a driver for this rich lady in Singapore, and he's got this annoying dog to deal with constantly. His buddy Ram is also hanging around Singapore trying to make it in the film industry. The thing is, both Nitin and Ram have these wealthy girlfriends—Anjali and Manpreet—who are totally into them and used to living the high life.
Meanwhile, there's this sketchy businessman named Harbans who's basically broke and desperate to marry off his son Nonny to someone rich so he can get a fat dowry and pay off his debts. He keeps trying to arrange marriages with different wealthy families, and things get pretty chaotic when he switches from wanting Anjali as the bride to going after her friend Manpreet instead. Anjali's dad Himanshu is also in the mix and absolutely hates Nitin, which complicates everything even more.
To make matters worse, there's this whole separate situation with a guy named Moosa who's trying to secretly marry a dancer, but his brother-in-law finds out and hires a dangerous mafia don and his assassin to take him down. Moosa ends up booking a hotel room under a fake name to lay low, and that's when things really start spiraling into pure chaos and confusion for everyone involved.
