Chandu Champion

So there's this older guy named Murlikant who walks into a police station wanting to file a complaint against the President of India—pretty bold, right? He's upset about not getting an award that he feels he deserves, and he thinks winning it would really help out his village. When the cops start questioning him about whether he's even eligible for this award, he launches into this incredible story about his life and all the amazing things he's accomplished.

It turns out Murlikant grew up in a small village in Maharashtra with big dreams of winning Olympic gold for his country. As a kid, he got teased a lot for having such ambitious goals, and even his own father wasn't supportive. Eventually he runs away and joins the army, where he gets trained as a boxer and even gets picked to compete in an international boxing competition in Tokyo. Though he performed well there, he ended up losing in the finals because he couldn't keep his head in the game, and his coach got so frustrated that he basically ditched him.

Then tragedy strikes when their military unit gets caught in the Indo-Pakistani war, and their camp gets attacked from the air. Murlikant gets hit by a bullet that damages his spine, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He hits rock bottom while recovering in the hospital, totally depressed and convinced his life is over, and he even tries to end it all. But his old coach shows up and gives him a new perspective—suggesting he try competing in the Paralympics instead, which completely changes the direction of his life.
