Angrakshak works hardest when it leans into the raw, bloody-minded revenge narrative, and that's exactly where it stumbles—by refusing to commit fully to its own darkness. The film has the bones of something genuinely gripping: a bodyguard-turned-avenger excavating layers of political conspiracy while nursing a shattered heart. The chemistry between the leads crackles in the early stretches, and there are moments where the film feels genuinely tense, particularly when Ajay's obsession strips away his humanity. But director Nitin Medwal gets tangled in melodrama when he should be leaning into ruthlessness. The love story, which should anchor everything, instead becomes a distraction—all longing glances and flashbacks that dilute the investigative thriller's momentum. The political conspiracy angle, too, needed sharper teeth; it plays more like a backdrop than the engine driving the narrative forward.

What saves Angrakshak from being a complete washout is the sheer conviction in its lead performance. There's a grim determination here that carries you through the sloppy plotting and the songs that have no business existing in this story. The action sequences have genuine brutality to them, and when the film stops trying to be a love story and embraces being a revenge thriller, it finds its footing. Storyline

Priya's a wealthy girl whose politician father's rising star means she needs round-the-clock protection, so he hires Ajay, a fiercely dedicated bodyguard who's basically glued to her side. The chemistry between them is electric—what starts as professional quickly becomes personal, and boom, they're genuinely in love. But politics is a blood sport, and as her father's power grows with elections looming, dangerous enemies circle closer and closer.

Everything explodes when Priya gets kidnapped and Ajay takes a brutal beating trying to save her. The ransom demand hits two crore rupees, but then the police find a body they think is Priya, sending her father into televised grief that somehow rockets him to a landslide election victory. The whole nation is crying for him while Ajay's lying in a hospital bed, broken and alone, except for one thing—he absolutely refuses to believe she's dead.

Ajay becomes unstoppable once he recovers, ditching everything to hunt for the truth about what really happened to Priya. His investigation spirals him into a dark maze of political betrayal and criminal conspiracy, forcing him to take on seriously dangerous players who want him dead. Love and vengeance become his only fuel as he claws through lies and deceit to find her, rescue her, and make everyone responsible pay for tearing them apart.
