Starting his career in 1979, this St. Dominic's College alumnus directed 16 films that showcased his range and storytelling sensibility. While he primarily worked in Malayalam cinema, his contributions to Indian film were notable for their craftsmanship and creative ambition during a formative period in regional cinema. Known for his multifaceted approach to filmmaking, Kannanthanam brought a distinctive vision to Malayalam films that balanced commercial appeal with artistic merit.
