Sunil Sikand carved out his own path in Bollywood during the 1980s, stepping into the director's chair with a legacy that came with some serious expectations—after all, he's the son of acting legend Pran. He made his directorial debut in 1984 with Farishta, but it was his second and final film, Lakshmanrekha (1991), that really showcased his vision. This thriller brought together an impressive ensemble cast including Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah, Shammi Kapoor, and Danny Denzongpa, alongside his father Pran, creating a project that felt both personal and professionally ambitious. Though Sikand's directorial career was relatively brief, spanning from 1977 to 1991, Lakshmanrekha left a mark as a gripping drama that highlighted his ability to handle complex narratives and work with heavyweight talent.
