Director
Rajeev Ravi
Rajeev Ravi is one of Bollywood's most versatile talents—a cinematographer, director, and producer who's been making waves since the late '90s. After studying at FTII Pune, he jumped into the industry as a cinematographer and hasn't looked back, becoming the guy directors call when they want visuals that actually mean something. His breakthrough moment came with Madhur Bhandarkar's Chandni Bar, but it was his collaborations with Anurag Kashyap that really put him on the map—his work on Dev.D earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Cinematography in 2010. Then came his National Film Award in 2013 for cinematography on his wife Geetu Mohandas's film Liar's Dice, proving that power couple energy is real in Indian cinema. What makes Ravi stand out is his refusal to stay in one lane. While many cinematographers get comfortable with one genre, he's equally at home capturing the gritty realism of Anurag Kashyap's world and the poetic sensibility needed for art films. His directorial debut with the Malayalam film Annayum Rasoolum showed he could tell stories just as well as he could frame them, and films like Kammatipaadam (starring Dulquer Salman) showcase his ability to blend indie sensibilities with mainstream appeal. In recent years, he's continued to be a driving force in Malayalam and Hindi cinema, consistently choosing projects that push boundaries rather than play it safe.
