Mohan Kumar was a prolific Bollywood director who carved out a solid career spanning over three decades, from 1960 to 1992. Born in Sialkot before Partition uprooted him to Mumbai, Kumar established himself as a dependable filmmaker who juggled directing, producing, and screenwriting duties. While he may not be a household name today, his consistent output during the golden age of Hindi cinema made him a respected figure behind the camera, contributing significantly to the industry's creative output during that era. Known for his versatility and hands-on approach to filmmaking, Mohan Kumar embodied the practical craftsman spirit of classic Bollywood directors. He didn't just direct films—he was deeply involved in their creation as a producer and writer, giving him complete creative control over his projects.
