Inder Raj Anand was one of Hindi cinema's most prolific dialogue and screenwriters, working across four decades from the 1940s right through the 1980s. He's best known for his collaborations with Raj Kapoor on classics like *Aag* (1948), *Aah* (1953), *Anari* (1959), and the romantic epic *Sangam* (1964)—films that helped define an era of Hindi cinema. His final project, *Shahenshah* (1988), starring Amitabh Bachchan and directed by his son Tinnu, became a massive hit and cemented his legacy even after his passing in March 1987. Inder wasn't just a writer; he was a bridge between generations, nurturing talent that would continue shaping Bollywood for decades.
