Anant Balani

Anant Balani was a talented Bollywood director and screenwriter who left an indelible mark on Hindi cinema despite a tragically short career. Best known for directing the romantic thriller *Patthar Ke Phool* (1991), which showcased the on-screen chemistry between Salman Khan and Raveena Tandon, Balani proved he had the magic touch for commercial cinema. A graduate of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, he worked his way up with genuine craft and vision. Though his life was cut short by a heart attack in August 2003, his prolific output in his final year—completing three films and working on a fourth—spoke volumes about his dedication and drive in the industry.
