S. Sreesanth

S. Sreesanth burst onto India's cricket scene as a fiery fast bowler from Kerala with genuine pace and aggression that made him a valuable asset during the mid-2000s. Making his international debut in 2005 against Sri Lanka in ODIs and following up with a Test debut against England in 2006, he quickly established himself as a promising prospect for Indian cricket. Over his international career spanning 2005-2011, Sreesanth played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, taking 87 Test wickets and 75 ODI wickets with some impressive performances including a five-wicket haul in ODIs (6/55 against Bangladesh). His career also saw him represent various IPL franchises like Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, and Kochi Tuskers Kerala, bringing his competitive spirit to the league's early years. Beyond the cricket field, Sreesanth became known for his aggressive on-field persona and fiery temperament, traits that made him both celebrated and controversial among fans. His transition away from cricket highlighted his multifaceted personality, and he ventured into acting, taking on roles in Malayalam and Tamil films. While his later years have seen him step back from the spotlight, Sreesanth remains a memorable figure in Indian cricket history—a talented bowler whose peak years delivered some thrilling moments, even if his international career didn't reach the heights many predicted during his promising debut years.
