Priti Sapru
Born: 24 December 1957
Priti Sapru made her mark in Indian cinema during the 1980s and 90s, working across both Punjabi and Hindi films with impressive range and screen presence. She shared screen space with some of the era's biggest names—think Gurdas Maan, Veerendra, and Raj Babbar—in films like Nimmo and Qurbani Jatt Di, proving she could hold her own in any project. While she may not be a household name today, her body of work during that golden period of regional cinema shows she was a serious talent who made meaningful contributions to Punjabi and Hindi film industries. What made Priti stand out was her ability to move seamlessly between regional Punjabi cinema and mainstream Hindi films, bringing authenticity and depth to her characters. She had that distinctive quality of the '80s and '90s leading ladies—charm paired with real acting chops. Though her filmography isn't as extensive as some of her contemporaries, the projects she chose reflected her willingness to take on diverse roles and work with established actors, cementing her place in that era of cinema that fans still look back on with nostalgia.
